For most of our lives, liberal elites have attacked religion, churchgoers, and Christianity in politics. “Jesus freaks,” they called us. “Bible thumpers.” Any time conservative Christians spoke up about the unborn, pornography, gay marriage, school choice, or religious freedom, the Left said the Religious Right was threatening the separation of church and state.
In 2026, they’re changing their tune. Oh, they still hate conservative Christians as much as ever — both because of our conservatism and our Christianity. But now those same progressives are promoting religion in politics — as long as it’s theirs.
In Texas and Kansas, the Democrats’ Senate candidates — James Talarico and Adam Hamilton — are ostensibly clergymen. But every week, they say things that leave churchgoers scratching their heads.
Talarico has said “God is non-binary” and that the Gospels are pro-abortion. Hamilton gave a sermon at his liberal megachurch about how the Bible is riddled with errors. He says that biblical law itself is immoral.
This is music to the ears of anti-Christian elites. The liberal media is giving Hamilton and Talarico glowing coverage. Secular coastal elites are flooding both campaigns with cash. And it’s working. Even though Kansas and Texas are red states, polls show both races are close.
We should not be surprised by the rise of the Religious Left. Marxism has always been a religion.
Their woke insanity — that boys can become girls and babies are just “clumps of cells” — is pure superstition without any scientific evidence behind it. Their creepy land acknowledgments and kneeling at BLM rallies are public acts of piety and “prayer.” Their yard signs — “In this house we believe…” — are modeled after the Apostles’ Creed.
The Religious Left’s goal is very simple: to use the trappings of Christianity to destroy traditional Christianity.
They use Scripture to justify the use of taxpayer money to murder babies, groom and mutilate children, and expose toddlers to deranged “drag queen story hours.” They want to degrade the institution of marriage and blur the natural lines between male and female. They want to force Americans to pretend that sins are virtues and that government can be our new Messiah.
The Religious Left is playing a dangerous game — with our culture, our Constitution, and our children. We refuse to play it. It doesn’t matter if they are “sincere” in their beliefs. Their agenda for our society is evil.
We conservatives must expose and defeat this strange new Woke Religion — at the ballot box and in the hearts of the American people.
