Taking Action Against the Trump Verdict
Senate Conservatives are doing more than making strongly-worded statements
In the wake of Donald Trump’s corrupt persecution by Democrat prosecutors in New York, every Republican Senator said something.
Press releases flew out of Capitol Hill. Social media platforms twittered. Cable news filled with righteous indignation.
But only a few Senators actually did something.
The day after Trump’s phony “verdict” came down, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) wrote a letter promising to end business as usual for the Biden Administration.
He was immediately joined by these Senate Conservatives: J.D. Vance (R-OH), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), Eric Schmitt (R-MO), Rick Scott (R-FL), Josh Hawley (R-MO), Ron Johnson (R-WI), and Rand Paul (R-KY).
The Pledge Letter promises to oppose:
Any new funding bills for Joe Biden’s weaponized Administration;
Any new political or judicial appointments; and,
Any expedited consideration of Democrat legislation not related to national security.
Thanks to a groundswell of grassroots support, more Senators have joined the letter since it was originally released, bringing the total number to 14.
And the pressure continues to mount. There is no reason Republican Senators should fund Joe Biden’s lawfare or confirm the dangerous political nominees wielding it.
Words aren’t enough. In a fight like this, words are almost meaningless! That’s why the Lee Letter is so important — it forces Republican Senators to put their votes where their mouths are.
Establishment Republicans always parrot the talking points of the Right but then vote with the Left. That strategy has led us to this moment, where Democrats are abusing the criminal justice system to imprison their political opponents, like third-world dictators.
It’s bad enough that they do it, but congressional Republicans actually want to fund it!
It has to stop. And the only way to stop it is for Republican Senators to stand up and VOTE NO.
Thank you for supporting the Senate Conservatives who are fighting for our principles and values. They could not do this important work without your generous support.
