BACKGROUND
Eric Hovde has deep roots in the state. His family has a rich history of entrepreneurship, beginning with his grandfather’s real estate business during the Great Depression and continuing with his father’s efforts to grow the business after serving in the military. Eric himself was born and raised in Madison, attending East High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Eric’s entrepreneurial spirit is evident in his career. He founded and managed his first business in his twenties and has since built and revitalized many others, including turning around troubled community banks. This hands-on approach and dedication to improving businesses reflect his commitment to building a prosperous future for Wisconsin and our country.
Beyond his business acumen, Eric has a heart for service. He and his brother, Steve, founded The Hovde Foundation, which has built ten “Hovde Homes” to provide shelter and care for vulnerable children and families. The foundation also supports local charities, food banks, literacy initiatives, and efforts to end sex trafficking. Eric’s personal battle with multiple sclerosis (MS) has fueled his dedication to supporting clinical research and outreach programs for others facing similar challenges.
THE FIGHT AHEAD
Our nation faces critical issues that demand immediate attention. Under the Biden Administration and Senator Baldwin, our national debt has skyrocketed by over $7.3 trillion since 2020. This reckless fiscal management jeopardizes our economic stability and future prosperity. Eric Hovde understands the importance of responsible fiscal policies and will fight to cut federal spending and deficits.
Likewise, the border crisis has reached unprecedented levels under the current administration. The Democrats’ refusal to secure our southern border has endangered our national security and fueled a humanitarian crisis. Eric Hovde will work with other Senate Conservatives to enforce our immigration laws, strengthen our borders, and protect American citizens.
Finally, our healthcare system is also in dire need of reform. Obamacare's failures have led to increased insurance premiums and decreased quality of care. As someone who has lived with MS, Eric knows firsthand the struggles within our healthcare system. He will fight to enact meaningful reforms to ensure healthcare works for all Americans.
