SENATE UPDATE: Conservatives Eye Wins on Taxes, Stablecoins, and Investment Accounts
Senate could vote this week on Senator Hagerty's "GENIUS Act"
Last Week

Troy Meink as Secretary of the Air Force (74-25);
James Danly as Deputy Secretary of Energy (52-44);

Conservative Spotlight
BILL HAGERTY — Sen. Bill Hagerty’s (R-TN) bill to create a legal framework for stablecoins — the GENIUS Act — may pass the Senate before the end of May. Two weeks ago, you may remember, Democrat supporters of the bill switched their votes to deny President Trump a win. Reportedly, those Democrats are back on board. The Senate could take up Hagerty’s bill as soon as this week.
TED CRUZ — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) wants to give every American child a private, tax-free investment account — with a $1,000 seed investment. The “Invest America Act” would give all Americans access to the power of compound returns as soon as they are born. A pilot version of the proposal, which President Trump strongly supports, could be included in the “Big Beautiful Bill” now making its way through Congress.
HOUSE CONSERVATIVES — SCF would like to offer three cheers to the conservatives in the House of Representatives holding the line on President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Swampy GOP elites are trying to pull the bill to the Left on taxes, spending, and regulatory reform. But conservatives are standing firm, and both the president and the country will be better off for it.
This Week
The Senate has one vote scheduled for today, to take up President Trump’s nomination of Charles Kushner to be Ambassador to France and Monaco.
The Senate is also expected to vote — once again — on Sen. Bill Hagerty’s (R-TN) GENIUS Act (see above).
The House of Representatives is continuing to work on the president’s “Big, Beautiful” tax-energy-border security bill. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) still hopes to pass it on to the Senate by Memorial Day.
As always, thank you for your efforts to help build a conservative Senate and a stronger America.
