Wisconsin conservative is the new chairman of the Senate Budget Committee
As the chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, Senator Lindsey Graham was set to be the Senate’s point man for President Trump’s $95 billion defense, intelligence, and election security bill this fall.
Now, that task will fall to a new Budget chairman.
Luckily for America, a tough, seasoned conservative is ready to take it on: Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI).
Johnson has served in the Senate since the Tea Party revolution of 2010. And as you may know, SCF was one of his biggest supporters that year. Prior to entering politics, he ran a successful plastics business. He’s been in the middle of every big budget fight ever since: from “Cut, Cap, Balance” to the Trump tax cuts to DOGE.
He may also be the most dogged oversight investigator in Congress. As Chairman of the Senate’s Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee during the first Trump Administration, Johnson led inquiries into the Russia Hoax, Hunter Biden, and the origins of the COVID pandemic.
A fearless investigator and fiscal hawk is exactly what America needs leading Congress’s budget process today. Johnson is perfectly positioned to partner with President Trump’s conservative Budget Director, Russell Vought, and Vice President J.D. Vance’s anti-fraud task force.
Fighting waste, fraud, and abuse is one of the top priorities for Senate Conservatives. It could be costing taxpayers $500 billion every year. Criminal networks in Minnesota and California are just the beginning. There is much more to root out. And Johnson is just the man to do it.
