Remembering Senator Lindsey Graham
"When there's a fight, I will show up."
Senator Lindsey Graham’s first speech on the House floor praised Newt Gingrich for supporting term limits for the Speaker of the House.
Senator Graham’s last phone call with President Trump was about his efforts to pass the SAVE America Act.
Conservatives have disagreed with Senator Graham on many issues over the years, but we’ve always respected his willingness to fight for what he believed in and appreciated it when he was on our side.
His fight — his sense of urgency — is lacking in Washington today.
And now that he’s suddenly gone, there’s a lesson for Senate Republicans and for every freedom-loving American.
Life is short. We don’t know how long we have. So, it’s incumbent upon each of us to use our time to fight for liberty.
When Senate Republicans meet for their weekly lunch a few hours from now, our hope and prayer is that Lindsey’s passing will inspire them to fight for America’s future now. Not when they have 60 Republican votes. Right now.
For freedom. For America!
Remembering Senator Lindsey Graham
“Lindsey Graham was one of a kind. I’ve never known anyone like him. We served in the House and Senate together and remained good friends. I enjoyed working with him because he wasn’t afraid of anyone and didn’t perform for any group. He was a happy warrior who never held a grudge; he’d disagree with you vehemently on an issue, then be your best ally on the next political battle. He was an independent thinker with common sense — Washington could use a lot more like him. I will miss him, and so will South Carolina and the nation. “— Former Senator Jim DeMint
