Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) announced their support for Senator Rick Scott as the next Republican Leader following Tuesday's closed-door meeting of Republican senators.
“Rick Scott’s approach is also the most closely aligned with and focused on helping President Trump enact his legislative agenda, which is supported by more than 75 million American voters,” said Senator Lee.
Seven Republicans have publicly backed Senator Scott now.
Ron Johnson (R-WI)
Bill Hagerty (R-TN)
Rand Paul (R-KY)
Marco Rubio (R-FL)
Tommy Tuberville (R-AL)
Mike Lee (R-UT)
Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
Others are expected to support him but have not made it public.
There are a few supposedly “leaked” whip lists floating around the Internet that claim to know how senators will vote, but they aren’t verified. We should take them with a grain of salt and keep encouraging senators to do the right thing.
Please call Senate Republicans and urge them to support Rick Scott for Leader.
The vote is scheduled to take place this morning, so take action now.
The biggest argument against Rick Scott is that he can’t win. This is a self-fulfilling prophecy. It’s time for Republicans to discard the old ways of thinking enshrined during the McConnell era and embrace the new opportunity they have to shake up Washington and save America.
