Do you ever feel like you’re being tricked by political fundraising requests? You definitely could be.
Here are a few of the things to watch out for when making contributions:
Monthly subscription defaults. Many websites that collect contributions are preset to make your contribution repeat each month by default. If that is not your desire, you will have to un-check what is often a small checkbox that makes it a monthly contribution.
Bogus matching offers. Unless the match being offered is a one-for-one match, it’s probably not real. So, the next time you see a group claiming to match your contribution 5X, 10X, or more, don’t buy it unless it has been verified. If you want to support the group, do it, but don’t support them because of the phony matching offer.
Hidden split percentages. When you make contributions split between multiple candidates or committees, be sure to check to see how much is actually going to each entity. This information is often hidden on the screen and could be tilted heavily toward one committee unless you change it.
Steep fundraising commissions. Many candidates must pay commissions to third-party vendors that are equal to 80% or more of your contribution. That leaves very little for the candidate to use to communicate with voters. Unfortunately, these commissions are often an unavoidable cost for federal candidates. They need access to large donor lists to fuel their campaigns, and this is one of the only ways to do it.
Thankfully, there’s a way to avoid these tricks and shield candidates from these high costs. You can support them through the Senate Conservatives Fund.
When you donate to candidates through SCF, we pay all fundraising expenses and transfer 100% of your contributions to their campaigns. That means if you donate $50 to a candidate, they get $50 with no hidden fees or commissions taken out.
We only support proven conservatives who will fight for our priorities after they’re elected. This is important because there are a lot of RINOs out there who falsely claim to be conservative just to get your money. That’s probably the biggest scam in Republican fundraising.
We also only support candidates who can win. Many candidates simply aren’t viable, either because they aren’t running sound campaigns or because they’re running in deep blue states.
And when you donate at SenateConservatives.com, we don’t use monthly donation tricks. Not only do you have to manually select this option on our site, but we also allow you to set an end date so your contributions don’t continue longer than you want.
The bottom line is that the Senate Conservatives Fund provides a safe and effective way to support the nation’s best Senate candidates.
