Everyone knows about “the fog of war.” But this fall, the anti-Semitic, woke Left is giving the American people a chilling lesson in the clarity of war.
In the first week after Hamas terrorists launched surprise attacks against Israeli civilians, statements downplaying and even justifying the murder of hundreds of Jewish civilians poured in from the elite Left.
First came “The Squad” of woke members of the House of Representatives, who called on the United States to cut off aid to Israel. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez described Hamas’s surprise rocket attacks, kidnapping, and machine-gunning of a music concert as “a cycle of violence” for which both sides of the conflict deserved blame.
Within hours of Hamas’s attacks, 34 student groups at Harvard University issued a statement supporting Hamas and blaming the terrorism on Israel!

In quick succession, other schools joined the bigotry bandwagon. Anti-Semitic statements and rallies cropped up at New York University, Columbia, the University of California, Cal State, and elsewhere. At Stanford, a professor forced a Jewish undergraduate student to stand in a corner during class. So-called “Days of Resistance” are turning into nights of violence.
A pro-Palestinian School Board member in Virginia condemned her colleagues for holding a moment of silence for Israeli victims. Anti-Semitic rallies are being held around the country and around the world. Synagogues are receiving bomb threats. Swastikas are being spray-painted in American cities.
All this comes after 2022 saw the highest rate of anti-Semitic incidents ever recorded in the U.S.
The diabolical hatred of Jews is older than the Bible. And while it may not be possible for government policies to change people’s hearts, U.S. taxpayers should not have to subsidize hate. In the fight against anti-Semitic terrorism, there is no “fog of war” — only clarity.
This isn’t hard: any university that supports terrorism or coddles anti-Semite students or faculty on their campus should forfeit federal money. No general funding. No earmarks. No student loans. No research grants. If woke colleges want to side with terrorists, they can do it on their own dime.
This should be an issue in the coming fight over the federal budget. It’s an opportunity for conservatives to show the world exactly who stands where in the fight against racist violence.
Conservatives are right to be outraged at the rise of left-wing racism. But Congress can do more than call out Leftist anti-Semitism – they can cut it off.
